Antipode Gallery ‘s 1st Anniversary

Marseille, France.

To celebrate its first anniversary, Antipode Gallery asked 5 of its most popular artists this year to each invite a “Plus One”, an emerging artist they want to support.

The collection features 10 limited edition prints (series of 30), size 50x70 cm (20x28”), each at the price of €100 ($120).

Antipode Gallery asked each duo to select a charity they want to support and give back 20% of the sales to. Jessica and I chose the Reef restoration foundation in Australia, Reef Restoration Foundation is a not-for-profit social enterprise that is establishing a series of ocean-based coral nurseries using a proven method, which is a part of the solution for a healthy Great Barrier Reef.

The collection will be available from Mid-June till the end of August exclusively on www.antipodegallery.com.

Antipode Gallery exhibited this “Plus One“ collection right by the sea during its anniversary celebration at Tuba, the hippest spot in Marseille, France! It was a wonderful night!

Friends, I was wrong, it wasn’t my time of moving out of NY just yet… I thought I was gonna be at somewhere else today maybe on the West Coast but I’ve decided New York gets a second chance until it feels right for me to move to a different place… I take pride in saying that I’m a hardcore dream chaser, that means that I usually get everything I want because i work hard to get it, so my purpose in life at the moment is to chase my dreams and make them a reality, even if it’s a small dream or vision.

Hi friends.

The best advice I can give you today is to follow your gut, accept your mistakes and learn from them, but keep moving forward!

The day I decide to leave this land I will go full of experiences and wisdom, I’ll try to leave my multiple regrets on a side becaus I can’t do anything to change what is done but the most important thing is that I will arrive in any other place being and loving myself.
I’m grateful for my health because without it I can’t move and do the things I do to be happy!

The most wonderful things in life are free, they’re everywhere but we don’t see them because we are too busy trying to earn money to buy other wonderful and sometimes unnecessary things. Isn’t that ironic?

“I blame the moon”

The only New Year’s vision I had, I did a r e a l I t y.

In the middle of chaos and the beauty I’ve never felt so powerful and so powerless at the same time, to lit up this rose at this beach I had to go through some challenges that I take pride in saying that I faced them the only way I know how to do that, with truth and heart, with perseverance and fear sometimes. It was all worth it, every single breakage, every inch of glass, every tear I dropped. This piece has a special intervention by one of my most dear friends Michael Fletchner, his work is unique and his spirit even more! I had to be there with him, we had to cross paths again, so we did this way. About that story another time, Thank you Flektro for believing in me and for injecting nothing but love and support to my piece.

For all this unprecedented events I couldn’t find anyone to blame except the moon. “I blame the moon” is filled with Argon and Mercury in an 8mm diameter glass.

I just want to share how much I love all my plants, but this plant is one of the first things that I see in the morning when I wake up, I’ve placed it in purpose there because it needs sun and also because Is part of my morning ritual of gratitude, do you also feel happy watching your plants grow ? This plant is a “Banana” plant! My bedroom is a jungle! Not really hehehe.

Earth Day is definitely a day I love to celebrate more than Easter, Valentine’s or even Independence Day! *What the hell is Independence anyways?) Earth Day is everyday but I love the idea of having 24hours to talk about nothing but Mother Nature… It’s the perfect time to create awareness to protect and take care of our land and our life in this planet. A little effort is something! There are so many ways to contribute to a better world by just common sense rules we all know!

• try to consume less plastic

• recycle

• don’t litter

• put garbage in its place

• support small and organic farms

• consume less meat and less fish to control Industrial fishing practices

• plant a tree, propagate new plants!

• buy less clothes, try to avoid fast fashion and switch to companies that care about their fabrics and recycling materials my 2 top brands are Reformation and Patagonia.

• share information with your friends about how to be a better citizen :)

• don’t leave your trash at the beach please!

• take care of the water, our most important resource, the fountain of our existence is water!

And these are only a few examples but there are other things you could also do. I believe that connecting with nature is the best thing that ever happened to me and therefore I want to make sure the future generations in myself are going to be living in a safe environment.

I’m in eternal gratitude for having a roof where I can rest under and I can let my mind fly away in dreams. Yes I would rather be under the stars surrounded by the sound of the water but for now this works.
For how long will I be here? Where am I going next? Let’s find out, I’m trusting the force of nature, I never had so much faith like I have now, faith is knowing that your life is going to be alright no matter what. I feel that.

I love this print, I admire and respect Tracey Emin, she is an inspiration, I love the way she expresses herself and how she portraits her femininity and sexuality, she is raw and deep and not complicated, this is what she writes in this paint titled “I am the last of my kind”:

Wonder wheel

I’m celebrating my life all the month or March, not that i don’t celebrate myself every other month but March is my birthday month, so is extra special, it’s been a wonderful time! it feels like somedays is similar to a wonder wheel effect, a fun and exciting adventure, a journey that involves taking decisions and learn from them, going up and have a better view and going down to earth too, right?, I’m taking care of myself more than ever and most importantly I get to appreciate life so much and honor my body, who carries my spirit, always near the water.

Sometimes I wonder why am I still in the East Coast, why am I in this part of the world if I could be somewhere else? I guess I can go anywhere when I feel like this place stops feeling like home, I dream sometimes in going opposite and live in the West coast who I love so much, maybe live in a Distant Island when I’m older, I’m definitely doing that.

I’ve realized that many things don’t happen to me so when they do happen I get to experience them in a way no one does and that’s one of my gifts, I truly believe that, I see the horizon with special eyes, I feel the water and I swim in it like no one does and I can finally say I have a special connection with the universe who I call force of nature, not God, but now I understand who God is. Crazy right?
