NEON BOOBS: 3 STORIES

NEON BOOBS.png

I have 3 stories for you today.

All my boobies creations represent a woman and a story, today I posted on my instagram this photo below about 3 of my neon boobs artworks and I want to tell you about it.

From left to right:

1.- “Dominga”, that’s my abuelita’s name (RIP) she had big ones, so does my mom and of course, myself, thanks Minga (that’s how we used to call her) and all my big boobs ancestors haha, it wasn’t until a few years ago that i finally accepted the fact that i had big boobs and started feeling good about it. I grew up feeling ashamed of them, they were just so big, but these are the coconuts that I was meant to have so there’s nothing I can do about it. This piece talks about genes and heritage, generations and family resemblance from woman to woman.

2.- “Plus, we’re not perfect”, these are big boobs and uneven, because that’s normal, I’m talking about naturally plus size girls, a lot of plus size women aren’t happy with their bodies, even skinny girls aren’t but none of us are perfect and that’s okay, so let’s just try to carry that weight in the best possible and healthy way.

3.- “Bipolar”, to all of you with a bipolar disorder struggling everyday, going from one or many positive thoughts to negative ones, you’re still going to be loved, hang in there and ask for help, know the symptoms and talk to your family, I’m no expert and I don’t want to hurt anyone with my thoughts so I’ll stop right there because i don’t know how that feels like, but I will continue celebrating all of you chicas no matter what.

Teresa.

BANDANAS

Hello,

I wanted to tell you about my new bandanas I have now available to shop!

See I’m a simple girl, I rarely wear makeup or heavy accessories, but sometimes wears very specific things like heart shaped earrings, seashell anklets or cowboy boots, yeeeeha!!! and my favorite thing: bandanas! I wear them around my neck or on my hair, depending on my mood and the rest of my outfit/activity, I like wearing. them on a fancy night or for go hiking, road trips, etc. Last year I was at my studio working and thinking I should came up with my own bandana design featuring one of my neon artworks and then I thought maybe I should use the roses I photograph at the beach as an inspiration and that’s when I decided I wanted to use the roses and a possible neon rose to extend my collection called “Soy las Rosas, you’re my ocean”.

I started playing and creating doodles on paper bond and created a board on a wall, months later in December I won an iPad, i’m no designer and I can’t draw well but I started playing and sketching on the iPad, I bought a pen too, is so much fun to use it, and I like where I was going with the ideas except I knew I needed help somehow! It was 2020 already and my goal was to have the bandanas ready for this Summer, it was going to be almost a year, I had everything figured out except the designs. We were in the middle of the Pandemic in March and I got a message one day from a dear friend through instagram, I think the universe sent him to me because he is an artist, graphic designer, illustrator, etc. It was Thiago asking me how I was ? and I knew exactly at that moment that we was the perfect person to help me with my bandana project, I told him about my ideas, I shared a board and my doodles and he was listening, he came up with these 3 designs that I love. So thanks to him my vision came to life, it was really great working with him! He vibes high, he is caring, creative, vibrant, unique, colorful, talented human and i’m so proud of him.

Please take a moment to know more about his work and I hope you like the bandanas and I can inspire you to wear them and spice up your style, you can go to my shop online or just send me a Venmo @Terebomba

Thanks for reading and extra thank you for your support,

Love & Light,

Teresa.

Sunset Rose

Hi, I’m again so happy to share my most recent neon artwork with all of you.

All the elements came together in such a magical way for me yesterday at Rockaway Beach, here in New York; my vision came to life exactly the way I wanted it, although is really hard to photograph neon lights and I don’t own a prime lens but i’m satisfied with the results because I got that 1 shot I was looking for. If you follow my work you know I play with roses at the beach all the time and that is my main inspiration for this, I have a deep respect for the ocean for many reasons and I believe light and water are besties in my world.

Thanks for reading me, please enjoy life as much as you can and I hope you get to enjoy my work as well.

Light & Love,

Teresa.

"I FEEL YOU"

By the ocean is when I feel the presence of the absent the most, “ I FEEL YOU” is a work that expresses my thoughts and reflexions about the absence and the presence of the people we love that is no longer physically around us but we feel connected to them, there is irony in the concept; “I FEEL YOU” is a message I send to the most amazing natural things that Mother Earth gives us, the ocean, the sun, wildlife, flowers, rocks, trees, etc.

I’m so thrilled to share with you this light work i’ve created to celebrate the presence and the absence of a soul or a place we feel connected to.“I Feel you” is my message to those i love the most, is a love letter to the ocean and nature and is t…

I’m so thrilled to share with you this light work i’ve created to celebrate the presence and the absence of a soul or a place we feel connected to.

“I Feel you” is my message to those i love the most, is a love letter to the ocean and nature and is the way I honor “your presence” and live “your absence”.

On October 4th of 2010 I lost my father due to sudden heart and respiratory problems, it was a surprise and I was devastated, my dad was gone. He would’ve been 71 years old today on June 11th 2020, Its been 10 years since he is not physically with me but he is present in my heart. This piece I dedicate to him!

Light & love for you always,

Teresa.

Lenticular Postcard

Hey friends, i just posted on my shop a new LENTICULAR POSTCARD for you! It’s such a cool piece of art , measures 5X7, this postcard is from an art installation that I photographed in March at Laguna Beach in California, the name of the neon sculpture/artwork is “Neon Rose (This is how I say I love you)”. Some of us believe that giving a flower, rose, carnation, sunflower, plants, etc, to someone means that you like/care/love that person, this artwork represents me offering a rose to the ocean, the sun, nature and also to the presence of the people I love and miss the most so i decided to put it on a postcard. Get one and write a message on the back of it to someone you love or you haven’t seen in a while, you will make them feel loved, let’s make this happen and spread the love together, with my work and with your words.

"I see a distant horizon..."

As part of my new collection of artwork called “Distant Island”, i’m exploring and really enjoying painting with watercolor and acrylics, I’ve used diminutive reflective glass beads in these new series of paints that keeps my light attraction present. Some of these works will feature a neon piece as well. I see a distant horizon in a place i’ve never been present before but i’ve seen a version of it in past travels. I’m deeply inspired by the snow and the sunlight and the effect that creates, the isolation and the fear of being alone in a place away from home.

I can’t wait to show you more of this.

Light & Fragile love,

Teresa.

DIA:Beacon

DIA: Beacon is one of the most awesome places in New York if you’re into art and escapades like me. I love it!

Take the Metro North train ride from Grand Central (is only $35 dls round trip to Beacon) is about 1:30 min that feels like 30 minutes really.

I’m sharing just a few photos of what you can see in there but there’s way more! too bad the lower level was closed this time but I guess i’ll have to come back when they reopen it.

My always favorites: Richard Serra and Mary Corse, but this time I was completely seduced by Sam Gilliam’s work.

"She Cries (Part 3)"

“She cries (Part 3)”

She tries to hold her tears,

but they’re in a rush to come out,

her heart was sad

but you look at her and smile,

She tries to hide her feelings,

but they come out as water from her eyes,

She cries to a dream

She cries for love

but soon her tears become joy.
